A New Direction Chapter Four: A Step Forward.
Cynthia makes a decision that puts her on a new path.
“Not dealing with you today,” I shook my head as I walked into my office Monday morning.
Tyson was already at my office door waiting for me.
“You know the workday starts at eight,” Tyson said.
“Yes, I know,” I replied.
“It’s eight-ten,” Tyson said, staring at his watch.
“I ran into traffic,” I said, opening my door.
“Then leave home earlier,” Tyson said, barging into my office.
“Make yourself at home,” I smiled as I put my stuff on the large couch.
“Did you hear the news?” Tyson said as he threw a newspaper onto my desk.
“Yes,” I said, looking at the headlines.
Another teen ended their life yesterday by walking in front of a city bus.
“Not the best way to go,” I said.
“Not funny,” Tyson said, “Keep reading.”
I turned the paper toward me and smiled.
“Told you,” I said, pushing the paper back toward him. “You can’t treat these people like they have a cold, or the flu.”
