Gaming Life Chapter Six: A New Quest

Major changes come to Rick’s life, both online and off.

The past month flew by; things were getting hectic at work as Justin had made changes. He transferred Heather to one of the failing warehouses and brought this idiot into ours.

I called him an idiot because that’s exactly what I thought of him, and I didn’t hide it.

Jeffery was a by-the-book manager, which meant no music, no laid-back attitude, and people leaving early.

I lost Emily in the first week as he didn’t like her purple hair. He told her to get rid of it, or he would fire her. She left the building as soon as he finished his sentence.

We both had yelling matches on the floor and in his office. I was sure Jeffery would have fired me if Justin didn’t like me, but Justin loved me. Even with this asshole breathing down my neck, I still produced good numbers.

Heather and I constantly talked on the phone and by text, and we sometimes met for lunch or a late dinner. She was like my new best friend since Gregg was no longer in the picture. I told her everything. And she told me everything that went on in her life.
