It had been two weeks since the promotion, and things were going great. After Jason left, Tyrone straightened up. He no longer had his side piece protecting him. He knew I had it in for him, so he did not mess around anymore.

Heather wasn’t as bad as Jason made her out, to be sure, she could be extreme at times, but for the most part, she was laid back and let the managers do their thing.

I still didn’t know what half the people in the offices did or what duties they performed. Even when we had our meetings and conference calls, I would stare at them, wondering what they did to earn such a high wage.

“I like it,” Heather said, reviewing my new schedule.

Paul had already approved it, as I had taken some of his troublemakers off his shift and put them on mine.

Paul was too friendly of a guy to do anything about them, and I had enough of their slack on the night shifts. I was sure I would hear backlash from them and was waiting for it.

“Have to say I am impressed,” Heather said, leaning back in her chair.
