King of the Mountain Chapter Two: The Rules.
There are rules to follow, especially for the newcomers.
Another morning, and it was off to a good start. I watched the gathered group doing their turns at the tube. Most of them were putting on quite a show.
“Hey Shawn,” one of them came up to me.
“Yeah, what’s up?” I replied.
“These two ladies been asking about you,” the young man said as he showed me two women behind him.
“How can I help you?” I asked.
Chad and Kevin were right beside me. Kyle was somewhere, probably hitting on some woman way too young for him.
“We heard you booked this place, for young people only,” one of the ladies said.
“Yeah, it’s a program I run every year,” I replied.
“We also heard you’re the best snowboarder on the mountain,” the other said with a slight look on her face that said she didn’t believe it.
“What?” Kevin asked. “You don’t think a black guy can snowboard?”
“We never said that,” the first one said.
“Sounds like a challenge to me,” one of the teens said.
