Growing Pains Chapter Four: What A Surprise.
Lauren and Nick surprise Charlene and her new husband at the dinner.
I waited downstairs for Lauren to come down, it had been a while, and I was about to go back up and see what was taking so long, but then she exited the building wearing a long coat down to her ankles.
“Hope you weren’t waiting long,” Lauren smiled.
“I was married, I am used to the wait,” I shrugged.
Lauren gave me a look and then shook her head.
“Trust me, when you see what I have on under this coat, it will be worth it.”
I shook my head as we walked to her car.
“Can you drive? I hate driving downtown,” Lauren said.
I hadn’t driven a car in almost three years, but it was nice to get behind the wheel again. We went to the restaurant, which was an expensive one located downtown.
We even had to park the car valet because there was no other parking. We took an elevator up to the main floor.
“Names,” a lady said as we entered the large restaurant.
The place looked expensive, it had a large gold fountain and numerous statues lined the walls.
