Growing Pains Chapter Three: The Shoe Drops.
Lauren tells Nick she has to talk, which makes Nick worry.
I was on cloud nine as I sat on the train to work. The date Saturday night went well, and Lauren and I talked most of Sunday. She spent the day with her sister, so I didn’t see her.
I must have been smiling too big as one of the ladies on the train was staring at me.
I couldn’t help it, the most beautiful woman I had ever met was flirting with me, and if I dared jump the gun, it seemed like we were dating.
Not even Keller’s idiotic flirting could dampen my spirit.
‘Morning,’ I sent a text to Lauren.
‘Morning, hope you have a good day,’ Lauren replied.
‘Same to you,’ I responded as I sat at my desk and prepared for class.
The first part of the day went well, and for the most part, nothing had gone wrong. I even avoided Keller as he and some of the other male teachers talked to one of the new female teachers in the teacher’s lounge.
‘Are you getting off at the same time?’ Lauren asked.
‘Yeah, I should, why are you going to be waiting for me again? ‘I responded with a smile.
