Inner Demons Chapter Two: Inner Torment.
Janet begins to question her life until something miraculous starts to happen.
“Fucking hell,” I said as I got out of bed.
My head pounded. It felt like something was inside my head, and was using a sledgehammer to get out.
All I wanted to do was go back to bed and sleep, but I had bills to pay, and quitting my job didn’t help. I needed to get myself out there and apply for new jobs. The sooner, the better.
I decided to be a big girl, so I got out of bed, took medication, and got my things together. I sat at my computer, redid my resume, and added a few things to my online work profile.
My phone rang immediately after I put it online and went to the kitchen.
“Janet?” a voice said.
“Jordan?” I asked.
“Yes,” Jordan replied.
Jordan was an old coworker he left to start his own publishing company. He wanted to report the small things, nothing significant and prominent, just the everyday things he thought people would be interested in reading.
“Is it true?” Jordan asked. “You quit?”
“Yes, finally,” I said as I sat down to eat lunch.
