Life Changes Everything.
Who knew one night in a hotel could change everything?
“Thank you again,” Sylvia said as we exited the main hall of the Comic-Con.
My cousin’s girlfriend, Sylvia, smiled at me as I carried her four bags. She had cleaned the house on everything she wanted to pick up while we were here.
“Yeah, thanks again,” Christie said.
Christie was Sylvia’s best friend and was my cousin’s best friend’s girlfriend.
“Max and Wayne would have never come with us,” Christie said.
“Please getting Max to do anything that interests me is a chore,” Sylvia said as we headed for the parking garage.
We all loved Overwatch, the Blizzard game, and had come dressed as our favorite characters. I came as Doomfist, Sylvia was Mercy, and Christie was Mei.
My cousin Max only played shooting and sports games. He saw Overwatch as a lame knockoff.
“I love Max as my cousin, but he’s a piece of shit, as a friend or anything else,” I said.
Max had screwed me several times, so we weren’t on the best of talking terms. He still tried to be the want-to-be gangster like the ones he listened to or saw on television.
