Life’s Lessons Chapter Eight: A New Lesson
Carla embarks on a new journey, one with her new family. She looks back on her past with no regrets.
“Would you relax!” April said as I paced back and forth.
“I just want you guys to like him,” I said.
I had never felt this way, and maybe I was falling too fast because I had never felt this way.
“You’re doing it again,” April said, grabbing my hands.
I had a nasty habit of biting my nails when I was nervous.
“You think I am stupid, don’t you?” I said, sitting on the couch.
“For falling for someone?” April asked. “Never.”
“The first guy that gives me any real attention and I fall head over heels,” I said, shaking my head. “I should have my head examined.”
“Then all of us should,” April sat next to me. “You’re human, it happens to the best of us, we can’t explain it. One minute we are the sanest person on the planet, then someone comes along, and we are melted butter.”
“That’s exactly how I feel,” I said.
The last month and a half had been a rollercoaster.
