Life’s Lessons Chapter Seven: Change
Carla’s life begins to change now that she has found someone that changes everything she has learned.
“You didn’t have to,” I said as Gavin took my jacket.
“Yes, I did,” Gavin said as he led me into the living room.
His house was small. The whole building could fit in my living room.
“Amy!” Celeste, his daughter, said, rushing towards me.
“Well, don’t you look better,” I smiled as I picked her up.
“Yes, I feel much better too,” Celeste smiled.
Her caramel skin no longer looked pale, and her brown eyes were wide open. The best thing about it was that she was smiling.
“What did your dad do to your hair?” I said, shaking my head and looking back at Gavin.
“He’s not really good at it,” Celeste whispered.
“I’ll fix it,” I smiled.
“I still have some things to finish in the kitchen,” Gavin said.
“Uh huh,” I nodded as I sat down with Celeste and tried to fix the mess of a hairdo that he had caused. “Do I have to come into the kitchen to fix that too?”
