Welcome to the Neighbourhood: Chapter Three
I took my new car out for a long ride after waking up. It was nice to get it out in the open and out of the community. I knew everyone loved it, and I had to admit that it was growing on me, but there were still times that I wanted to be alone.
The feeling didn’t last long as I got a call, “Hey,” I answered it.
“You’ve been quiet,” Sandra said.
“Yeah, I got my car,” I said as I turned onto the exit. I might as well head home and get back to work.
“Good, is it everything you expected?” Sandra asked.
“And more,” I said with a smile.
“Excellent, well the reason I was calling was because, the house would like an eta on the next book, they aren’t pushing, but would like a general idea,” Sandra said.
I gunned the car down the strip that led towards the community and then turned again onto the road that led to the gate.
“Nick?” Sandra asked as I hadn’t answered.
“What’s my usual answer,” I said as I nodded to the guard, he gave me a smile and a nod as I pulled up and showed my community I.D. He passed his scanner over it, and the gate opened.
“I know and I told them that, but they want more,” Sandra said.
