“So, what did you do now?” Aaron asked as he peeped his head into my office.

Aaron was the store’s assistant store manager. He had been away on vacation for the past two weeks. “Glad to see you back, hello, I am doing good,” I said as I stared at my monitor.

“Yeah, Yeah,” Aaron said as he stepped into my office. “What did you do?”

“What do you mean?” I asked, finally turning my attention to him.

“Usually, Gina picks me to stay with her on the two overnights that they do inventory and the maintenance on the roof, but she has you scheduled for both,” Aaron stated. “Saying you need the experience.”

“Well then, that’s the reason, I have done neither,” I shrugged. “About time I pull my weight around here, I am sure that’s her reasoning.”

“Sure,” Aaron said, sceptical of everything as usual.

Aaron was a by the book manager. He and Gina usually got into heated conversations about how she ran things.

“I will be in the office, if you ever want to chat,” Aaron said as he left, no doubt he felt like there was something more going on.
